Conical hole milling

Fanuc macro for conical hole milling with two selectable strategies. A strategy of constant depth cuts with circular attack and detachment in each cut, or a helical strategy. Using the geometric parameters of the hole, it is possible to program different types of holes, single taper, double taper, taper with cylinder section and vice versa. The macro for tapered holes automatically compensates for the cutter radius and the toric radius.

The macro mills conical holes using two different strategies: constant Z cuts and helical cuts. In the first case, for each cuts it carries out an increment in Z starting from the inside of the pre-hole and with a circular attachment it carries out circular interpolation. If the helical strategy is chosen, interpolation is continuous without ever detaching from the wall of the hole.

In the latter case, helical conical interpolation is performed by dividing the entire helical path into angular sectors; the Fanuc helical conical interpolation option is not required. The hole geometry can be of various shapes, such as an initial chamfer and tapered hole, a single taper, a cylindrical initial section and a second tapered section, or vice versa. It is also possible to define with a special parameter whether the hole is blind or through. The macro will calculate the start and end points correctly, automatically compensating for the cutter’s toric radius.

It can also be called modally at several points or only for a single position. The macro is compatible with all FANUC versions. Please read the section on warnings.

Buying Guide

How do I know what exactly the macro does?

Click on the ‘MANUAL’ icon to find the macro documentation with examples and parameter descriptions. Pay particular attention to the last paragraph ‘Warnings’.

After how long do I receive the macro?

After clicking on the buy button you will be directed to the purchase page. If you pay by credit card or PAYPAL, at the end of the process you will find in your personal area the macro ready for downloading with its manual and parameter diagram. If you pay by bank transfer, the macro will only be available once the amount has been credited.

How do I load the macro into the machine?

The macros for sale online do not require our presence for installation. Once purchased, the macro will be loaded onto your CNC machine just like a normal programme. To transfer the programme to the machine tool, use the method already in use on your machine (SERIAL, USB, PCMCI, NETWORK).

On how many machines in my workshop can I use the macro?

With the purchase of the machine you also acquire the licence to use the macro for all the machines in your workshop. It is not possible to sell or transfer the macro to third parties. For more information, please read the contractual conditions carefully.

Why are some macros not saleable online?

Some macros are marked ‘NOT SELLABLE ONLINE’ because they require the presence of a technician for installation. This is the case, for example, when customised screens for entering parameters have to be installed.
